The GoProForLIFE Project will take part in the LIFE Platform Meeting on “LIFE and European Forests Restoration”, to be held from 3 to 5 June 2025 in Brașov, Romania.
The event, promoted by the European Commission under the LIFE Programme, focuses on the strategic role of this initiative in supporting forest restoration across Europe. The meeting will address key topics such as:
- Ecological restoration and natural regeneration
- Forests and climate change
- Agroforestry and silvopastoral systems
- Socio-economic opportunities and financial instruments
This meeting offers a valuable opportunity to assess past experiences, inform ongoing policy developments, and propose effective strategies to strengthen the resilience of forest ecosystems, especially in light of growing environmental and socio-economic pressures.
A wide range of LIFE projects and EU-funded initiatives will be represented, alongside forestry experts, policymakers, professionals, and stakeholders, to share knowledge, foster collaboration, and develop concrete recommendations for the future of forest management and restoration in Europe.
Representing the GoProForMED project will be Serena Corezzola and Serena Buscarini of DREAM Italia, project coordinator. They will participate in the working group on “Ecological restoration and natural regeneration”, where they will present the project's experiences, outcomes, challenges, and solutions. Their contribution will take the form of a concise and accessible presentation, followed by an open Q\&A session with the audience.
This is a significant opportunity for international networking and for contributing to European and national environmental policies, with the aim of improving forest management and restoration practices across the continent.
